Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 30, 2026

This policy explains what the game (K)no(w) Directions collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: no accounts, no names, no emails, no location, no ads, no tracking, and we never sell your data.

Who we are

The game is made by Isom Industries, LLC. Contact: [email protected].

What we do not collect

The game is a simulated drive. It does not access, request, or store your device's location. It does not access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or health data. It does not ask for your name, email address, or phone number.

Your player identity

When you first play, the game creates a random player identifier and a random public share code for your device. They are not based on anything about you. The app keeps a secret key that proves it is you; our server stores only a one-way scrambled version of that key. We set no cookies. In a web browser, the player identifier, secret key and share code are kept in that browser's local storage on your device (not in cookies); clearing the site's data in your browser removes them.

Your share code is public by design: it appears in challenge links you share, on invitations you send to friends, and on daily leaderboards, so friends can see and compare results. It is never your name.

What we collect when you play

How we use it

Only to run the game: to score races, show results, replays, leaderboards and friend challenges, to fix problems, and to understand in aggregate which parts of the game people enjoy. We do not use it for advertising.

What others can see

If you share a result, anyone with that link can see the result card: the challenge, your times, mistakes, a simplified version of the route you drove, and your share code. For daily challenges, the route and destination are hidden until that day's challenge closes. Leaderboards show share codes and times only.

How long we keep it

Deleting your data

You can delete your game data from within the game, or by emailing us from the game's support page with your share code. Deleting removes your player identity, your usage events and your friend invitations. Your past race times may be kept for game statistics, but with nothing that links them to you. Races played before the game created your player identity cannot be linked to you, so we cannot find or delete them.

Service providers

We use a cloud hosting provider to run the game's server and store its data. Map images are loaded from a third-party map service (currently OpenStreetMap), which can see your IP address, like any website you visit. See attributions. We do not share your data with anyone else, except if the law requires it.

Advertising and tracking

The game contains no advertising and no third-party analytics. We do not sell or rent your data, share it for advertising, or give it to data brokers. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Crash reports

We receive only the crash reports you choose to share with app developers through your device's settings.

Children

The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The game never asks for a name, email or location. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what data we hold about your share code, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing [email protected]. We will respond within the time the law where you live requires. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, and you can contact your local data protection authority.

Security

Data travels over encrypted connections, and we store only a scrambled version of your secret key. No system is perfectly secure, but we collect as little as possible so there is little to lose.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and its effective date. If a change is significant, such as collecting a new kind of data, we will also tell you in the game before it takes effect.
